British hard rock legends Uriah Heep announce the release of their 25th studio album, Chaos & Colour, set for release January 27th, 2023, via Silver Lining Music. Chaos & Colour is an album bristling with explosive classic rock guitar playing, supreme vocal harmonies, and the band’s famously generous keyboard foundation. But the album finds extra thrust from a dominating performance by bassist Dave Rimmer, whose tone and temperament perfectly complements the aforementioned attributes of Uriah Heep’s now legendary sonic stew.

Led by Mick Box (guitarist and founding member), Uriah Heep delivers deliciously inspired songs on Chaos & Colour, characterized by themes of light, love and, ultimately, positivity – constants through the album’s eleven tracks. One Nation, One Sun is a journey of soaring balladic contemplation, Fly Like An Eagle takes the listener on a journey of meditation, whilst Closer To Your Dreams is a battle cry for the ages. Throughout the entire album, Rimmer’s timeless bass playing sits expertly beside the band’s phenomenal artistry and heritage and he deftly carries forward the low-end tradition laid down by his iconic predecessors: Trevor Bolder, Gary Thain, and Bob Daisley, to name a few.

It’s worth noting that Rimmer is also a co-songwriter in Uriah Heep, and he contributed Save Me Tonight, the album’s lead-off track and first single. “That song comes from a place of frustration and helplessness,” he explains. “Living through these unprecedented past couple of years but also hanging on to this raging hope that we would all meet again.” Rimmer co-wrote the tune with singer Jeff Scott Soto (Yngwie, TSO, Journey) and says their writing partnership has been a natural and very creative experience. “Our collaborations are the perfect platform for me to express these feelings and to carry on the Heep legacy.”

Produced by Jay Ruston, and engineered by Pieter Rietkerk, Chaos & Colour is a superb sounding album that affirms Uriah Heep’s commitment to quality hard rock and status as pioneers of the genre.
