Hello everyone! Hope you’ve survived the school holidays without too much trauma or too many tantrums (after all, it’s really not fair on the rest of your family!).
So, to help you past the finish line, we’ve got some great news, views and an ‘End of Summer’ Special Offer to help you through September!
£500 GIFT VOUCHER
Your Chance to Order your Dream Bass

This time last year, we sent out a Gift Voucher as a ‘Thank You’ for everyone who re-subscribed to our newsletter after updating in line with the new GDPR data protection legislation.
It was very popular, and enabled some lucky players to commission their dream custom built Overwater…
So, as an End of Summer treat, we thought we’d give you all another chance to take advantage of this fantastic discount!
It’s valid till the end of September, and can be used on any stock or custom order Overwater!*

A DATE FOR YOUR DIARY
Overwater@The Joint
London – Sunday 22nd September 2019

In July we hosted an Overwater@The Joint event at these prestige Rehearsal Studios, near Kings Cross in London. We had a fantastic day, supported by Bergantino Amplification, catching-up with a bunch of great bass players who dropped by on the day, includingMo Foster, Laurence Cottle, Trevor Barry, Paul Carmichael, Ian King and Zoltan Dekany – to name but a few!
Without exception, everyone we asked thoroughly enjoyed themselves and thought we should definitely do it again, so here’s the details for the next Overwater@The Joint:
Date: Sunday 22nd September
(same weekend as The London Guitar & Bass Show 2019, and only about 15 minutes walk or 5 minute bus journey from the British Design Centre, so you can easily attend both events on the same day!)
Venue: The Joint Rehearsal Studios 6 Field Street, WC1X 9DG.
Time: 11am till 6pm
Nice and handy for Euston, Kings Cross and St Pancreas if you’re coming by rail or tube, and outside the congestion zone with easy parking nearby for anyone traveling by car (and with the benefit of Sunday on-street parking!)
We’ll be bringing a few of our basses for you to try-out on the day, and it’s likely that some of our players will be bringing their basses too – so if you own an Overwater, you’re welcome to bring it with you to show us what you’ve got! The more, the merrier!
NEW – OVERWATER HOLLOWBODY
Our second model of this type, the Hollowbody sits along side our long established Expression and is constructed with body cavities on either side of a centre block which, in turn, holds a fixed (glued) neck joint and fully adjustable wooden bridge, set into a shallow route on the carved top front of the bass and strung ‘through body’ via extended ferrule inserts set into the rear of the body.
The unique design results in an instrument that is supremely articulate – it almost starts to sing as soon as you pick it up!
Surprisingly lightweight instrument – the chambered body providing a resonant voice with a great balance of depth and clarity, whilst the carved top adds a tactile feel and elegant aesthetic.
Available in either “Full Depth” or “Thinline” versions, and with the option of either a pair of twin coil magnetic pick-ups or a combination of magnetic or piezo, production of the Overwater Hollow Body is already well underway – and basses are now shipping!
And of course we’ll be bringing one down to our Overwater@The Joint event for anyone who wants to check it out in London on the 22nd.
OVERWATER PLAYER PHILL COURT
“MY EXPERIENCE ORDERING A CUSTOM P5…”
Just as we were thinking it would be good to feature some of our players in our newsletters, Phill Court sent us a link to a great article he wrote about the experience of ordering a custom Overwater, which he took delivery of earlier this year.
PROGRESS STANDARD SERIES
Our ‘bolt-on’ Standard Series Progress basses launched in 2016, are proving very popular – both here in the UK and further afield.
Although most of our basses are still going direct to musicians – we have also recently shipped Progress Series basses to our friends at Guitar Planet in Tokyo and Bass Buddha in Aarhus, Denmark. If you’re in their area – why not drop in and say Hello!

Well, that’s it for this newsletter – if you’re in the London area, we’d love to see you on Sunday 22nd at The Joint!
If not – we’re always here; on email, Facebook or Instagram – if any of you have anything you’d specially like to know about Overwater Basses – just drop us a message or give us a call…?
