Bensalem, PA –  January 1, 2020: The New EHB (Ergonomic Headless Bass) line of basses from Ibanez feature headless construction and a specially designed body that allow the player to maintain a similar playing position whether seated or standing. The contoured, ergonomic design and chambered body make for a lightweight, well-balanced, and comfortable instrument that’s excellent for long sets or practice sessions. There is an extended relief cut on the back of the body behind the lower horn for easier upper fret access. Also, the top half of the back of the body is slanted which allows the bass to rest slightly closer to the player’s body for better control and a more ergonomic feel. The EHB line is divided into EHB1000 series and EHB1500 series.

EHB1000 Series

The EHB1000 series basses feature an American Basswood body and a 5-piece roasted Maple/Walnut neck for well-balanced tone and clear attack. The Roasted Maple neck and fretboard are heat-treated to increase stability, durability, moisture resistance, and tolerance of temperature changes. Highly durable stainless steel frets accentuate tonal brightness and will not rust. Luminescent side dot inlays provide clear visibility in dark environments and the truss rod adjustment is located at the end of neck for easy access.

Bartolini® BH2 humbuckers and a 3-band active EQ with a variable mid-frequency offer wide-reaching tonal flexibility. There is also an EQ bypass switch for passive operation with the treble control acting as a passive tone control when the EQ is bypassed. The MR5HS bridge is designed especially for the EHB series and features a wide intonation range. Each bridge piece is independently and securely attached to the body for maximum vibration transfer, and the saddles are adjustable for string spacing +/-1.5mm. Teflon washers are used on each tuner for a smooth tuning action. Schaller S-Lock strap lock pins and a Neutrik locking jack hold the strap and cable securely, and a detachable finger ramp and a gig bag are included with each instrument. The EHB1000’s are offered in 4 or 5 string versions and the 5 string models are available in single or multi-scale designs.

EHB Headless Bass SeriesEHB1500 Series

 The EHB1500 series basses feature a figured Poplar Burl top on an African Mahogany body. This combination offers warm tones and rich resonance. A 9-piece Pangea Panga/Walnut neck imparts strong attack with tight low-end, while the Panga Panga fretboard delivers ample sustain. The Premium models are also equipped with stainless steel frets and luminescent side dot inlays.

An upgraded electronics package includes Nordstrand™ Big Split linear humbuckers paired with a 3-band active EQ with a variable mid-frequency. This preamp also has the EQ bypass with passive tone control in passive mode. This electronics package delivers a punchy, powerful, and well-balanced tone, with tonal characteristics between a P and J pickup. The Premiums are also equipped with the MR5HS bridge with adjustable string spacing and a smooth tuning action, as well as Schaller S-Lock strap lock pins and a Neutrik locking jack. A detachable finger ramp and a gig bag are included with each instrument. They’re offered in 4, 5, or 6 string versions. The 4 string is single scale only, the 6 string is multi-scale only, and the 5 string is offered in single or multi-scale.
