Bensalem, PA – New for 2024, Ibanez has unveiled its new AAM acoustics, the latest additions to the Advanced Acoustic series. These new models mark the series’ first venture into auditorium-style guitars. Just as the Grand Dreadnought offered a modified take on a traditional design, these new guitars feature Ibanez’s innovative Advanced Auditorium body shape. This novel shape draws inspiration from the auditorium, but incorporates several strategic modifications to enhance elements such as mid-range response, playability, and overall instrument balance.
To address and improve mid-range response, the proprietary X-M bracing has been refined by repositioning the mid-tone bar to a lower spot underneath the top. Additionally, the body’s waist has been shifted forward, which, in conjunction with the low-mass headstock, significantly improves the guitar’s overall balance. Further ergonomic enhancements include extra-rounded binding edges, a slanted neck heel, and the Advanced Access cutaway, as seen on the Grand Dreadnought.
This design also introduces a new monitoring feature called the A.I.R. (Acoustic Information Response) Port. This port utilizes specialized internal construction to maximize accurate acoustic feedback to the player, whether in a seated or standing position.
With eight new AAM models introduced, Ibanez has taken an exciting step forward in the realm of auditorium-style acoustic guitars.
