Ottawa, ON – June 3, 2024 – Empress Effects today announced the release of a limited edition colourway for the ParaEq MKII Deluxe. Originally launched in December 2022, The ParaEq MKII pedals have given players the ability to meticulously sculpt their tone. This special edition was conceived to celebrate its success in its first year of sales. Limited to 500 pieces worldwide, the ParaEq MKII Deluxe Black comes in an exclusive sparkle finish with white artwork.
“We haven’t released a limited colourway in a long time,” said Steve Bragg, President of Empress Effects. “The ParaEq MKII has been our best-selling pedal, so it gave us the perfect excuse to do something a little different. Since the MKII pedals have been received particularly well by metal players, a black finish seemed like a natural choice. We’re eager to hear what players think of the new look, and if they’d like to see more limited finishes from us.”
Feature-wise, the pedal is identical to the standard ParaEq MKII Deluxe. There are three parametric bands with variable bandwidth, and four additional filters: low pass, high pass, and low and high Baxandall shelving filters. There is also 30dB of footswitchable clean boost which can be linked to the EQ or switched fully independently, and the pedal can also switch between true or buffered bypass modes. The pedal runs on a 9V, 300mA power supply, and steps up internally to operate at 27V, providing very high clean headroom that can handle extreme amounts of boost.
